This Family Fast Day, Friday 1 October, CAFOD is focusing on people around the world who are dedicating their lives to protecting God's creation - people like Ivanilde who are on the frontline of the climate crisis.  Many parishes across the diocese are giving all an opportunity to support this through prayer and giving.

One such parish is the Immaculate Heart of Mary – Great Missenden.  The parish was well prepared to promote Fast day through their newsletter, announcement and handing out envelopes.  But the most inspirational part was when a youth stood up to deliver the Fast Day talk.  He was so moved by CAFOD's work that he wanted to deliver the talk and what an inspiration it was!

The parish was also selling CDs that the youth had contributed to with all proceeds to CAFOD.  To add to this, Deacon Peter was ready with his contactless device to make it even easier for all to donate – for 2 weekends!  Fantastic!
