Regional Science Centers have been set up at four places in the state for the promotion and dissemination of science and technology in the state through the guidance and efforts of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, embodying Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi's goal of developing technology.

 

Today, on the occasion of 'Gujarat Gaurav Divas', the world famous 'Regional Science Center' was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel at Patan. The Chief Minister looked at all the galleries of the entire center with great interest and also attended 5D theater activity with children.

 

Shri Vijay Nehra, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, briefed the Chief Minister of the entire Center. Minister for Education and Science and Technology Shri Jitubhai Vaghani and Co-operation Minister and District in-charge Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma were present on the occasion.

 

It may be mentioned here that this center will be an important place for dissemination of science, technical awareness, popularization of STEM for students, teachers and general public. Not only that, the 'Regional Science Center' spread over an area of ​​34000 square meters and constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore has been designed keeping in view the field of science, technology and mathematics. As well as the galleries here are made keeping in mind the uniqueness of Patan district. These include Land of Dinosaurs Gallery, Hydroponics Gallery, Nobel Prize Gallery, Chemistry, Optics Gallery, Human Science Gallery.

 

Other attractions include workshops, 3-D theaters, science-themed parks, schools, sundials and cafeterias. Simultaneously, the exciting world of optical illusion can be seen in the Optics Gallery. The Illusion Tunnel, Infinity Pit, Tilted Room will also be a center of attraction for science lovers.

In addition, science lovers who come to visit this science center will realize the Jurassic age which has a history of millions of years of life. India's tallest Brachiosauras dinosaur with a height of 57 feet will also be a tourist attraction.

The center is located in schools, colleges, ITIs of Patan district and surrounding districts. It will also help in increasing the interest in science for the students studying in the university. On this occasion Secretary of Science and Technology Department Mr. Vijay Nehra, District Collector and other officers and office bearers besides District Development Officer were present.
