12 Years For Carlisle Man On Intent To Supply

A Carlisle man has been jailed to 12 years in prison for drug supply.

On Thursday July 28, Aaron Giacopazzi, 35, of Elizabeths Close, Carlisle appeared in court in connection with two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A – Cocaine and possession of criminal property.

Detective Inspector Duncan Brooker said "Today's result shows the consequences that await those who are caught being involved in the supply of drugs to our communities

"We will continue to take robust action to target organised criminality in Cumbria and will pursue those involved at every level."

The offences follow the uplift of a Ford Focus on February 16 2022 which was not taxed or insured.

The vehicle was searched the following day under the Misuse of Drugs Act were officers located a rucksack containing blocks of cocaine, once deals and drug related paraphernalia.

Giacopazzi turned up where the Focus had been seized to stating 'That's my car'.

Drug experts carried out forensics on the items located in the vehicle and it was found there were 4.9kg of Cocaine located estimated to have a street value of up to £491,500.

Giacopazzi was arrested on the March 31 and his phone and vehicle seized, officers located a quantity of cash totalling £1,000 and also searched two addresses following his arrest.

Another 153 grams of cocaine was located, a substantial amount of cash and plastic bags.
