The keeper of Her Majesty's "secret wallet", Michael Stevens revealed the secret details of the royal family's budget: as it turned out, the financial situation of the kingdom leaves much to be desired.
In the last year alone, royal family spending has increased by 17% to over £102 million. And this is pretty critical.
Stevens noted that this is due to the "return to normal life" - picnics and garden parties, the travels of Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and the social exit of Kate Middleton and Prince William.
For example, the appearance of the dukes at the premiere of the latest James Bond film cost the palace a pretty penny. The couple spent about 32 thousand pounds.
