Major Names Head to Cross-Country in the Lead

The second day of Osberton International Horse Trials saw major stars of the sport head to the top of the leaderboard across the main two sections, the Investec CCI2*-L and BEDE CCI3*-L.

Oliver Townend and Finley Du Loir are set for cross country in pole position for owner Sir John Peace in the Investec CCI2*-L with Ros Canter and Creevagh Mohill in second and Saffron Cressell and Vivendi Hero coming home third at the end of the dressage.

Mollie Summerland and Flow 7 are in first place in the BEDE CCI3*-L, after putting in a super effort throughout to overtake Ros Canter and MHS Seventeen with Pippa Funnell and Billy Wonder holding third.

After the completion of the cross-country phase in The Howden Way 5YO Young Horse Championship, Sara Squires and Van Kaunitz are in first place, the handsome grey putting in a foot perfect round.

Holding second place is Kitty King and MBF Redhouse Evoque with Ros Canter and Silvesters Finesse standing third as they head into the show-jumping tomorrow.

In The Howden Way 6YO Young Horse Championship, Kevin McNab and Faro Imp (pictured below) are in pole position with 26.9 penalties. Tom McEwen and Monbeg Equity follow closely on their heels with Caroline Harris and Pepper Dream claiming third.

The Howden Way 7YO Young Horse Championship sees the inform Piggy March again out in front, and she is double handed with Dassett Arthalent in first and Brookfield Future News in second ahead of Emily King with Sunny Side Up taking third with the coloured poles to face on Saturday.
