Marc Andre ter Stegen is on the radar of Newcastle United for the coming transfer window. The Barcelona goalkeeper is viewed as an indispensable part of the first team by Xavi Hernandez.
However, club president Joan Laporta does not have the same view about the German. The Premier League side will be open to offering him a blank chequebook if he wishes to join them in the near future.

Following their Champions League exit this season, Barcelona will be open to accepting a €50 million offer for the goalkeeper. This would allow them to deal with their financial difficulties due to the lack of revenue. But it remains to be seen whether the Spanish side would allow him to leave for that amount.
The 'blank chequebook' stance that Newcastle United have on the Marc Andre ter Stegen transfer would make him one of the best paid players in the English top flight.
However, they currently have Nick Pope between the sticks who has performed incredibly well as the first choice goalkeeper under Eddie Howe. With both shotstoppers 30 years old as of right now, they still have quite a few years left at the top level.
And it remains to be seen whether the Barcelona man will agree to the transfer, as his contract expires in 2025.
