According to a report by The Information, before Qualcomm could take over Nuvia, Google looked at buying this incipiency. Nuvia was innovated in early 2019 by some former Google and Apple workers. These workers formerly worked on erecting Apple'sA-series chips and Google mobile tackle. Qualcomm also acquired Nuvia in 2021.

While Google is presently doing great with its Tensor chips in Pixel bias, acquiring Nuvia could've helped the hunt mammoth to add energy to the fire of competition with Apple, Qualcomm, and ARM. With Nuvia's moxie in custom ARM silicon, Google could've gained a massive advantage over challengers.

Google reportedly wanted to buy Nuvia

Google lately switched to making its own in-house Tensor chips for the phone lineup, starting with the Google Pixel 6 and continuing the trend with the Google Pixel 7. In discrepancy to Apple's much more tailored silicon, Google's chips calculate on further standard factors and are composed of Arm arrangements and Exynos modems. While the company makes some emotional strides in the TPU department, it looks like it also wanted to buy in some further technical CPU knowledge but failed.

For Google, Nuvia could have been particularly intriguing. While Apple formerly has a firm hold on chip manufacturing thanks to its A and M series which offer some of the most effective designs in the assiduity, Google still looks like it's veritably much at the morning of its Tensor chip trip. The company's chips are great for Pixel phones and the Google Pixel Tablet, but they can't contend with desktop-class CPUs that Apple, Intel, and Qualcomm offer for laptops and other, bigger form factors.

That's where Nuvia could have come in. The company is substantially concentrated on important but effective desktop CPUs. It looks like Qualcomm is planning to release a 12- core high- performance product straight from the recently bought company soon, which is supposed to compete with Apple's M1 chip.

In a different world, Google could have released its now discontinued Pixelbook lineup with a chip like this and shot straight to the top of the Chromebook food chain, making Chrome zilches an indeed more feasible volition to Windows and macOS. A stronger and more effective chip could help any Google product, however, and its phones could make strides in the life department with technology like this.
