Retro TV celebrates the best in classic television with your favorites from way-back-when.

"As a big fan of television, we are thrilled to be able to bring these groundbreaking series to Retro TV viewers," says Retro TV President Joel Wertman.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (PRWEB)

Retro TV has added the iconic Johnny Depp series 21 Jump Street and American crime drama Wiseguy to their lineup, with both series starting their run on the network on December 26, 2022.

21 Jump Street revolves around the cases of an undercover police unit composed of young-looking officers specializing in youth crime and is credited for jumpstarting Johnny Depp's career. The series also featured notable guest stars like Josh Brolin, Jada Pinkett Smith, Brad Pitt, Christina Applegate, Vince Vaughn, and more.

Wiseguy starred Ken Wahl as titular character 'Vinnie Terranova,' an agent with the Organized Crime Bureau infiltrating dangerous criminal organizations, struggling to remain true to himself while becoming close to the criminal leaders he is sworn to bring down. Wahl departed the series and was replaced by Steven Bauer. The series also starred Jim Byrns and Jonathan Banks, who is now most known for his performance in the critically acclaimed "Breaking Bad."

In revisiting the series, critics have noted that the rough and sometimes brutal show paved the way for other hit dramas that came after it. "It's almost impossible now not to see the show as a precursor of 'The Sopranos' in its emotional dilemmas, raw confrontations and inbred violence (and huge body count), leavened with ironic humor. But Wiseguy is rich in its own right," writes Newsday critic Diane Wertz. Mike Flaherty of Entertainment Weekly notes, "Wiseguy inaugurated a new kind of filmic gangster - brutal and sensitive, angsty and verbose - whose lineage extends to the multidimensional sociopaths of such shows as The Sopranos and The Wire."

"As a big fan of television, we are thrilled to be able to bring these groundbreaking series to Retro TV viewers," says Retro TV President Joel Wertman.

Both series will begin airing on Retro TV Monday, December 26. 21 Jump Street will air on Retro TV Mondays through Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Viewers will be able to watch Wiseguy Monday through Fridays at 7 p.m. ET/PT. A separate run of Wiseguy will also air on Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Those who don't get Retro TV in their area will be able to watch the network's livestream on It's Real Good TV, available on the web at watch.itsrealgoodtv.com or via the It's Real Good TV app that can be downloaded to Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick, and more.
