In 1968, I finished the first four chapters of my great work on Confirmation. In fact, in 1969-1970, I actually finished it. I know that this seems like a long time ago. Really, it is just fifty-five years ago, but those years seem like yesterday to me. Thank you for putting up with my ramblings. May you have fifty-five more years of good health and cheer. I probably will not have those many years. If I get another ten or fifteen good years, I will be happy. Being over eighty has been a privilege that I would like to enjoy a few more years. As another year comes up on the calendar, I am painfully aware that I am a long way from 1939, but not yet ready to put an end of my years on earth. How old would you like to live to?
