Now that the weather is finally warming up and the flowers are blooming, I feel like I can fully embrace the beauty of Swat's campus! If you've read my articles before, you know that fall is my favorite season BUT spring is a close second. I feel like I've taken the fact that Swarthmore's campus is an arboretum for granted for most of my time here, but no longer! As a junior nearing my senior year, I now take time to actually stop and smell the roses! Here are a few of my favorite springtime activities to do now that spring has sprung in Swarthmore!
- Having a Meal in the Amphitheater!
The amphitheater is a very underutilized and underappreciated space on campus that I believe deserves a lot more love. Most students experienced the amphitheater at the ending of their new student orientation week for First Collection, but I believe students should appreciate the beauty of the space during the day! Picture this: you've grabbed a meal from Sharples and don't feel like eating indoors or in front of a screen. You need to feel a cool breeze and smell the sweet scent of flowers that flows on said breeze. You go to the amphitheater! You're protected from the sun by huge beautiful trees, you can relax in the shade and take in the natural beauty all around you, and you just feel at ease. This is the magic of the amphitheater. Whether you want to grab lunch with some friends here or you need some alone time to unwind, the amphitheater is the perfect springtime spot!

- Taking in the Cherry Blossoms
There are many many beautiful flowers to look at all over campus in springtime, but my personal all-time favorite flower to take in are the cherry blossoms! The cherry blossom orchard is located on the way to the Black Cultural Center (BCC) and is in beautiful full bloom now! This is also the perfect spot to go to relax during a stressful finals season. I like finding a tree to sit under and study for my finals for a while, and when I get tired of that, I can just lay down and look up at pretty pink petals against a crisp blue sky. There's something so comforting about this particular space on campus. If I ever get really tired of studying, this also makes the ideal napping space.

- Taking Advantage of Parrish Beach!
I have a whole blog post dedicated to the beauty of laying down on Parrish Beach, but there are also many other activities you can do on Parrish Beach besides taking a good nap! Lately, the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) has been hosting many outdoor events here like various lawn games. My friends and I played cornhole for far too long and also giant Jenga. One of the classic activities that I hadn't really taken advantage of before is frisbee! It's simple, easy to play, and is a great activity for a nice springtime day!

Springtime is absolutely gorgeous on Swat's campus and there are so many wonderful things you can do to take advantage of the nice weather! Whether it's taking in the new flowers that have sprung, relaxing under the cherry blossom trees, or playing around on Parrish Beach, there is never a lack of things to do on Swarthmore's campus during this beautiful time!
