Blackpool FC Take League Title In North West Women's Regional Football Leagues

The final league title and promotion place in North West Women's Regional Football Leagues as been decided.

The Premier Division heads into the final round with promotion and relegation finalised.

Champions FC United finished their season off at home with a 5-1 win over Fleetwood Town on Sunday April 23 while Mossley went down to a 2-3 defeat against Crewe Alexandra.

Tranmere were 2-0 winners against Darwen and West Didsbury and Cheadle Town could not be separated in a 2-2 draw.

The midweek game between Curzon Ashton and Tranmere on Wednesday April 26 was postponed and Fleetwood and Cheadle Town shared the spoils on Thursday April 27 with a 1-1 draw.

In the final round on Sunday April 30 has Cheadle Town hosting Darwen, Crewe Alexandra face West Didsbury and Fleetwood Town take on Mossley.

The matches are set to kickoff at 2pm (14:00).

In Division One North Blackpool claimed the league title and promotion to the Premier Division with a win over Preston North End.

Blackpool went top with a 2-0 win at home to Accrington Stanley on April 23 while Preston North End left Bolton Wanderers with a 1-7 win.

In Cumbria Carlisle United won 1-0 at home to Penwortham Town while the last Cumbrian derby ended in a 1-2 win for Penrith at Workington.

The title was decided on Tuesday April 25 as Blackpool won 1-0 at home to Preston North End with a Molly Kelly chip.

It was not a happy trip for Sir Tom Finney as they lost 11-1 to Penrith on Wednesday April 26 and Penwortham went down 0-3 to Bolton Wanderers on Thursday April 27.

There are four fixtures on April 30 as Workington finish their season at home to Bolton Wanderers, Penwortham face Blackpool in their final league game and Morecambe play their final game at the Mazuma Stadium against Penrith AFC.

Carlisle United face Preston North End in the first of two home games that will finish their season.

All fixtures are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.

In Division One South the penultimate on April 23 end with victory for Altrincham as they beat Hindley 2-0 and BRNESC were held to a 2-2 draw with Chester.

The midweek game between Hindley and Chester on Tuesday April 25 ended in a 4-0 win for Hindley.

The final two games of the season have BRNESC facing Warrington Wolves and Chester take on Hindley in the return fixture both matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.
