Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel graced the closing ceremony of the 24th All India Police Lawn Tennis Championship 2023 at Riverfront, Ahmedabad, where he presented awards to the winners of the Police Lawn Tennis Championship.
During the event, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel shared, "Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, through the mantra of 'Fit India', has not only promoted a healthier lifestyle for the nation but has also motivated the youth to excel in sports."
He commended the efforts of the All India Police Sports Control Board for organizing lawn tennis competitions, which is contributing to the encouragement and development of sports in the country.
The Chief Minister emphasized that these competitions offer a platform for police personnel from various states to come together and realise the spirit of 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat', as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Additionally, he highlighted the significance of exchanging diverse cultural aspects during such events.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of sports for maintaining good health, especially in professions like the police, which entail both physical and mental stress. Acknowledging the challenges of stressful police work, he underscored the utility of activities like sports and yoga in promoting fitness and well-being.
The Chief Minister commended the successful hosting of the inaugural All India Police Lawn Tennis Championship by Gujarat Police. He congratulated DGP Shri Vikas Sahay and the entire force for their excellent planning and execution. The Chief Minister extended his best wishes for the continued success of initiatives by the All India Police Sports Control Board.
It is worth noting that the 24th All India Police Lawn Tennis Championship 2023 featured various categories, including Veterans Doubles, Veterans Singles, Open Doubles, Open Singles, Team Event Championship, and Rolling Trophy Champion. Team Manager Mr. Rahul Baliyan (SP) (ITBP) was declared the Rolling Trophy Champion. Additionally, Mr. Ravirajsinh Jadeja from Gujarat secured the title of Open Doubles Champion. The championship witnessed the participation of 22 police lawn tennis teams from different states across the country.

DGP Shri Vikas Sahay, Chairman of All India Police Sports Control Board Shri Rahul Rasgotra, Ahmedabad Mayor Smt. Pratibha Jain, MPs Shri Narhari Amin, and Shri Hasmukh Patel, MLA Shri Harshad Patel, Deputy Mayor Shri Jatin Patel, lawn tennis police team from various states, police officials across districts and states along with many citizens were present.
