Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, inaugurated the light and sound show at Rann Utsav, celebrated in the renowned White Rann of Kutch. The newly launched Light & Sound show will enhance the appeal for tourists from India and around the world.
In this Light & Sound Show, the Chief Minister and accompanying dignitaries witnessed a themed performance titled "Mari Bhoomi, Kutch Ni Bhoomi, Ran Ni Bhoomi, Yudhh Ni Bhoomi". They witnessed captivating glimpses of the White Rann, Dholavira of the Harappan Civilization, Buddhist caves at Lakhpat, Koteshwar Mahadev, Narayan Sarovar, the Kurukshetra area of Kutch, the Battle of Jharna, and the remarkable story of resilient Kutchi women rebuilding the airstrip after the war with Pakistan. The showcase also featured Rakshak Van, Kutch's crafts, town and craftsmanship, tales of bravery, the valour of Kutch, the devastating earthquake in Kutch on January 26, 2001, and the memorial forest in Bhuj. Additionally, the world's largest renewable energy park was highlighted, offering an immersive journey through Kutch's rich history and culture.
A new attraction has been unveiled for tourists at Dhordo's White Rann in Kutch, renowned for its scenic beauty. A Light and Sound show at the watchtower in the Rann of Kutch promises to be a mesmerizing spectacle. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the grandeur of Kutch and delve into its glorious history and culture through this captivating Light and Sound show.
The globally acclaimed Rann Utsav, held in the heart of Kutch, is a prominent global event. Formerly initiated by the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the Rann Utsav began in the pristine stretch of the White Rann. Over time, this festival has not only established the identity of the Rann region but has also promoted Kutch's profile on the global stage.
Kutch, including the White Rann, has gained recognition as a leading tourist destination nationally and internationally. The introduction of the Light and Sound show at White Rann, starting today, is set to captivate tourists, offering a glimpse into the glorious history and dignified culture of Kutch from the watchtower.
The cost of this light and sound show exceeds Rs. 7.29 crore. Annually, during the Rann, a combination of decorative and innovative lighting, along with a captivating light and sound show, has been introduced to enhance the appeal for tourists visiting White Rann and to emphasize the significance of night tourism. With a duration of 18 minutes, this light and sound show revolves around the theme of Rann and Bhoomi, drawing inspiration from the history of Kutch. The show will be presented twice at night accommodating an audience of 250 people simultaneously.
Finance Minister Shri Kanubhai Desai, Tourism Minister Shri Mulubhai Bera, Chief Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Hasmukh Adhia, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, Secretary to Chief Minister Smt. Avantika Singh, Secretary of Tourism Department Shri Harit Shukla, Principal Secretary of Energy and Petrochemicals Department Smt. Mamta Verma, MLA Shri Pradyumansinh Jadeja, Shri Trikambhai Chhanga, Shri Anirudhdh Dave, Smt. Maltiben Maheshwari, District Collector Shri Amit Arora, and District Development Officer Shri Shailesh Prajapati. Additionally, Sarpanch Shri Miya Hussain of Dhordo village, along with several officials, senior officials, and tourists were present.
