| Caroline Turner February 2 | UKLFI has drawn the BBC's attention to extreme antisemitic posts on a Facebook page which appears to be that of a senior BBC employee. The Facebook page was run by Dawn Las Quevas-Allen, who may or may not be the same person as the BBC's employee, Dawn Queva. According to Dawn Queva's LinkedIn profile, she is a senior scheduling co-ordinator and playout planner at BBC Three, and has been in this role since January 2023. She has previously worked for A+E Networks, UKTV and Walt Disney across genres including children's and adult programming. The LinkedIn page has now been removed and nearly all the content of the Facebook page has been removed. The same photograph that appears in Dawn Queva's LinkedIn profile had also appeared as one of the photos on the Dawn Las Quevas-Allen Facebook page. The Facebook page called Jews "Nazi apartheid parasites", "thieves", and "satanists" and continually denied Ashkenazi Jews had any blood link to the land of Israel. The posts made bizarre claims – calling the UK the UKKK and America AmeriKKKa. White people were referred to as having subcontinental European melanin recessive CaucAsian [sic] skintone. Jews were accused of wanting world domination. A post on 16 January 2024, above a video of an Israeli Knesset member advocating for measures to enable the Israeli hostages to be released, stated: "That boiling hot vat of green excrement that the invader coloniser eastern subcontinental CaucAsian synagogue of Satan cabal calling themselves "JeWISH" has reserved for everyone else is the same vat of boiling excrement they will find themselves swimming in." The BBC responded to UKLFI the same day, 1 February 2022, saying: "Thank you for sharing the information and I will ensure that this is passed onto the appropriate teams in the BBC. To reiterate, we don't comment on individual members of staff and we have well-established and robust processes in place to handle such issues." Classic antisemitic tropes were deployed in the Facebook posts, which were grossly offensive and designed to stir up racial hatred. Caroline Turner from UKLFI commented: "We hope that the BBC will investigate this matter thoroughly and if Dawn Queva was the author of these bizarre antisemitic rants, she should be disciplined appropriately". | | | |
