Ugandan midfielder Keziron Kizito has joined Kansanshi Dynamos FC on a permanent move from another Zambian side, ZESCO United.
Kizito, who had joined Kansanshi on loan during the second round of last season, has committed to the club for the next two seasons, signing a contract binding him to the Solwezi-based side until 2026.
The creative midfielder was unveiled by Kansanshi on Friday, alongside goalkeeper Gregory Sanjase, also from ZESCO, as the club starts early preparations for the second division league, having been demoted from the top flight last season.
In the meantime, the club had also earlier on announced the extension of contracts for two key players, goalkeeper Philip Sakauta and central defender Mathews Mutambo.
Kansanshi finished second-last on the MTN Super League table, occupying 17th position of 18 teams to suffer relegation, alongside Konkola Blades, Prisons Leopards and Trident FC.
For the entire 2023/24 season, Kansanshi collected just 35 points from 34 games, comprising 8 wins, 11 draws and upto 15 loses, just the same as 16th placed Prisons Leopards.
Kizito's loan spell was not all successful but the midfielder's impressive attributes couldn't go unnoticed. At the worst, he still managed atleast a goal and an assist - the club decided to retain him even after demotion.
The Uganda Cranes international who has locally played for Vipers and KCCA has also had stints with AFC Leopards in Kenya and Kerala Blasters in India.
Kizito's experience and expertise, the club president, Douglas Nyirenda believes will go a long way in helping the club to ensure a swift return to the top tier of Zambian football.
Meanwhile, the club also announced various changes in the coaching and management staff earlier on this month.
Kansanshi confirmed that they would not continue with the services of Head Coach Donewell Yobe, Technical Adviser Patrick Phiri and Goalkeeper Trainer Ceaser Ndjovu plus Team Manager Kanema Chizombu for the new season.
