Drama: Lovely Runner (선재 업고 튀어)
Network: tvN
Episodes: 16
Release Date: April 8 - May 28, 2024
Runtime: Monday & Tuesday 20:50
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea

Plot: A girl goes back in time to save her favorite idol from dying.

Main Cast:
Kim Hye Yoon - Im Sol
Byun Woo Seok - Ryu Sun Jae
Song Geon Hee - Kim Tae-Sung
Lee Seung Hyub - Baek In-Hyuk

Review:
Sunjae is clearly the favorite of everyone after watching this show. He was a loser for Im Sol and had every girl swooning coz seriously a guy like him is purely fantasy. If i were his friend irl, i would prolly roll my eyes like his band and say he is too dumb to do everything for a girl. Lol. I seriously don't know which Sun Jae version I liked best. The initial scenes where Sun Jae was performing in that black outfit was seriously too gorgeous. The high school Sun Jaes from the first and second time travel were also adorable. The adult Sun Jae was even better!!

Im Sol was too cute, no wonder Sunjae was so smitten at first sight. Her smile and her dimples can really make a day better. I just didn't understand why Im Sol made a lot of dumb decisions. They could have talked about it and thought of solving the killer case together rather than just trying to figure it out on her own without Sunjae knowing. It was heart breaking seeing Im Sol trying her best not to get Sunjae killed while Sunjae was just too happy to be killed if it will protect Im Sol. That scene when he got stabbed and he waited for the police to keep her safe then falling off the cliff was a giant OHNOOYOUCANTDIESUNJAE!!! I was crying with Im Sol when I saw Sunjae's body.

I liked the time travel logic wasn't as complicated like other dramas are so it was easy to follow the storylines despite going back to the past several times. (Except for the last part when Im Sol used Sunjae's watch to reset everything - brilliant twist but not logical). I also liked how the grandma explained things, something like body dies, but memories don't disappear. I've been into different energy healing modalities the past few years and I'm inclined to believe that our soul is alive and more powerful than our body.

Despite the miscommunication between the leads for majority of the drama, the kiss in episode 8 made it all so worth it. Like finally, after 15 years of longing, Sunjae got the girl and I was cheering for them. I also loved episode 15 when Sunjae's memories came back. Great acting by Byun Woo Seok in that scene.

At first i didn't like Tae Sung but he was one of the better characters and Im Sol also changed his life for the better. Maybe a sequel with him as a lead? Lol.

I think the biggest disappointment in this drama is we don't know why the killer was out to get the leads. It would have been more impactful if he had a link to them. But I'm glad that TOD finally hit the right person.

Episodes 10-11 had a lot of fillers. Wished they just skipped those 2 episodes and ended at episode 14. The proposal and the way they imagined their wedding was perfect ending to such a beautiful drama.

The songs were also so good, esp Sonaki and the 10cm song.

Rating: 9/10
