He was instrumental in preventing the Trump Campaign from winning the numerous lawsuits they brought against the state with the goal of throwing out the mail in ballots (mine included). Gretchen Whitmer was governor of Michigan in 2020 and was a rigorous enforcer of Covid restrictions. She also stood firm after the election to the point that MAGA paramilitaries schemed to kidnap her. Both of these Democrats have seen the really ugly side of MAGA up close and personal and lived to tell about it. They both have good favorability ratings by their state's voters. Whitmer won her second term by 10 points. Shapiro is still a first term governor but should have no problem winning another term. Just sayin'.
