South African Premier League side Richards Bay FC have tied down Ugandan goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola to a new three-year contract.
"Richards Bay FC would like to congratulate Salim Magoola on signing a 3 year contract extension with the club," the Natal Rich Boyz announced on Sunday.
Apparently, Kaizer Chiefs have also been monitoring Magoola's contract situation, but the Cranes goalkeeper has instead decided to commit the next three years to the same club he joined in 2022, until 2027.
Towards last season's January transfer window, Magoola's club interestingly came out to publicly warn other clubs against encroaching on their goalkeeper, engaging him over a possible transfer without the club's consent.
Without mentioning any particular clubs' names, Richards Bay, at the time confirmed that, certain clubs in the Premier Soccer League and African continent leagues were approaching their goalkeeper, Magoola.
The Ugandan Goalkeeper is understandably a player the KwaZulu-Natal club wouldn't wish to let go of now, as he's one of their most outstanding players at the moment - a prized asset.
Besides Richards Bay, Magoola has also previously played for Pretoria Callies in South Africa.
Locally, the goalkeeper played for Express and KCCA, before moving to Sudan's Al-Merrikh and Al-Hilal Club respectively.
