*UCU Canons 62-79 KCCA Panthers (1-1)
UCU Lady Canons secured their place in the Semifinals with a deserved 68-58 victory over the Magic Stormers on Tuesday at the YMCA court in Wandegeya.
This win completed a 2-0 series sweep, having narrowly edged out the Magic Stormers 48-46 in Game One on July 13.
The Lady Canons established a strong lead early, going into halftime with a 41-27 advantage.
Despite a resilient effort from the Magic Stormers in the second half, the gap proved insurmountable.
Aziida Nabayunga led the charge for the Mukono-based side with 16 points, supported by Hajara Najjuko with 12 points and Tracy Namugosa with 10 points.
On the other side, Christine Nakitto and Kur Ajah each scored 14 points for the Magic Stormers, but their efforts were not enough to extend their season.
UCU's victory came despite being out-rebounded 38-47 and committing 37 turnovers, which the Magic Stormers failed to capitalize on.
With this win, Nicholas Natuhereza's side advance to face the KIU Rangers in the Semifinals, who themselves completed a sweep of the Miracle Ravens earlier.
The other best-of-five Semifinal matchup in the Women's Division will see the defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins take on the JT Lady Jaguars.
