Uganda Cup Champions Kitara FC has completed the signing of Oyirwoth Daglas, a left back formerly with UPDF FC.
Oyirwoth joins the Royals on a one-year contract, following the expiration of his deal with UPDF FC after four years.
Daglas' final season with UPDF FC was marred by a severe preseason injury sustained during a match against Express at Wankulukuku Stadium.
He made only seven appearances for the Army side in the concluded season, bringing his total Uganda Premier League matches for UPDF FC to 51.
The former Synergy and Mbarara City left back will face competition for a starting spot from his former teammate Jasper Aheebwa.
Initially, Oyirwoth was set to join Express, but the deal fell through due to disagreements over personal terms.
Kitara FC has already unveiled two new signings striker Amaku Fred and David Ndihabwe, both joining from Maroons FC.
The team will host the first leg of the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup against Al Hilal Benghazi in Libya on Friday, August 16, at the Benina Martyrs Stadium (artificial turf), with kickoff at 8 pm Ugandan time.
The return leg will be played at the same venue a week later. Kitara FC had initially hoped to host the match in Uganda but was unable to do so due to unforeseen circumstances.
