*KCCA 0-1 Kitara
*FUFA Select 2-1 SC Villa
Kitara FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over KCCA FC in the first leg of the FUFA Super Eight quarterfinals, giving them a crucial advantage ahead of the return leg.
The match, held on Saturday at Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, saw Denis Omedi score the decisive goal.
Omedi's goal came in the first half, following a brilliant assist from new signing Fred Amaku.
Omedi maneuvered past Haruna Lukwago and slotted the ball past goalkeeper Anthony Emojong at his near post.
Despite Abdallah Mubiru's KCCA dominating the second half, they were unable to find an equalizer.
Their frustration was compounded when Shafik Kwikiriza's goal was disallowed due to an offside call involving Hassan Muhamud.
KCCA had multiple opportunities to score, with Emmanuel Anyama missing a clear chance when he fired wide, and Captain Julius Poloto also failing to find the target.
Kitara's goalkeeper, Chrispus Kusiima, played a pivotal role, making some crucial saves to maintain his team's lead.
Kitara FC had their chances as well, with Jude Ssemugabi coming closest to doubling their lead. However, they managed to hold on to their slim advantage until the final whistle.
KCCA FC will aim to overturn the deficit when they face Kitara FC again in the return leg on Tuesday, once again at Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
