In what has turned into a dominant year for the Dutch World Champion he has now added most wins in a season with a record breaking fourteenth.

After a slow start for Max Verstappen who only finished one of the first three races at the beginning of the season had racked up fourteen with two races left.

The record breaking, double world champion Verstappen said: "Winning 14 races in a season is incredible, we're having an amazing year as a team and that's the most important thing.

"We keep on pushing and we want to win as many races as possible, it's really special what we are all achieving together this year."

Speaking about the race he commented saying: "The first stint of the race was critical today and we managed to stay in the lead after turn one. We were obviously on a different strategy to the cars around us and we had to look after our tyres a lot.

"We had quite good pace on the soft tyre even though it wears a bit more, we then drove the medium to the end."

Starting on pole Verstappen was never really trouble as he went over the finish line 15 seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes in second.

Mexicans had something to cheer as Sergio Perez came home in third as George Russell dropped to fourth after qualifying in second.

It was a quiet race for Ferrari as Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc finished fifth and sixth keeping the team ahead of Mercedes in the Constructors Championship.

The McLaren duo of Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris were split by Alpine's Esteban Ocon as the teams continued their battle.

Alfa Romeo finished tenth with Valtteri Bottas unable to hold onto his higher qualifying position.

A 5 second penalty proved costly for AlphaTauri's Pierre Gasly as he finished eleventh by half a second.

Alex Albon finished twelfth ahead of Zhou Guanyu with the Aston Martin pair coming up quickly with Sebastian Vettel unable to repeat his last corner heroics of the previous race as Lance Stroll followed him home.

Haas came next with Mick Schumacher beating Kevin Magnussen as Nicholas Latifi came home last.

Alpine's Fernando Alonso and AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda were the only two not to finish with Tsunoda going airborne in his clash with Ricciardo.

Formula One heads to South America and São Paulo for the Brazilian Grand Prix on 11-13 November.
