Vipers SC have confirmed Issa Bugembe as their fourth signing, having previously unveiled Derrick Ndahiro, Pedro 'Sukuya' Honjo Chimbiambiulo and Kenneth Kimera.
The teenager has joined the Venoms on a four-year deal, from another Uganda Premier League (UPL) side, Bright Stars FC, following the expiration of his contract at the club he has spent over the past two years at.
The long-term term deal indicates that the club have broader plans for the player who has committed himself to stay at Kitende until the 2027/28 season.
Born on August 10th, 2004, the 19-year-old is also a student at St. Mary's Boarding Secondary School, Kitende (SMASK) - a close affiliate and a feeder-side to Vipers.
He was part of the SMASK team that played and finished third at the 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Associations (USSSA) championships in Masaka, subsequently qualifying to the East African games to be hosted in Uganda.
Bugembe has also previously played for Royal Giants High School in Mityana, and represented Uganda at various Youth level sides, including the U15, U17 and the U20.
Bugembe can effectively operate both as a striker and an attacking midfielder, and the Kitende-based side intends to also capitalize on such abilities and versatility of the player.
Full of energy, young, with some top league and National Team experience, the big-bodied player is a great addition to the Venoms side as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
